EVERY KID MATTERS
As a proud member of the Ontario Association of Children’s Rehabilitation Services (OACRS), the Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent believes that Every Kid Matters.
OACRS and its members are committed to:
- maximizing the potential of kids to be the best they can be;
- making a difference in the quality of life for families;
- recognizing and building upon the unique differences and needs of children, youth and their families;
- providing holistic family-centred services;
- striving for excellence in service provision;
- advocating for equitable access to services across Ontario.
The positive results are evident:
- greater developmental and educational gains;
- improved impact on family functioning and adaptability;
- lowered family stress and negative outcomes;
- greater post-secondary and employment opportunities;
- reduced demands on health and education costs due to early intervention;
- lower life cost associated with disability.
To build the best possible future for children and families, OACRS members seek:
- equitable access to vital rehabilitation services throughout Ontario;
- stable and equitable funding for children’s services
- local flexibility to address children’s needs;
- access to specialized services throughout Ontario.
OACRS unites 20 children’s treatment centres who provide vital rehabilitation services to young Ontarians with physical, developmental and communication needs. Each year, 65,000 children, youth and families seek the professional services of OACRS’ members.
